Peaches

What do peaches have to do with carnivorous plants? Other than the idea that if peaches were carnivorous, they would. be. AWESOME, not much. But peaches come in two types: freestone and cling. And so do the dead leaves and stems of Sarracenia that I am currently in the midst of removing in preparation for the growing season. Let's call them freestem: those plants whose petioles (leaf stems) are easily removed with a finger pull; and cling: those whose petioles need to be cut to remove.

What in the 'L'?

Why is the "L" in parentheses in Blog? First, I like parentheses. They're perfect for commemorating the near constant asides that are the hallmark of my writing "style". Second, this is a website about (primarily) carnivorous plants and carnivorous can (but not always do) live in bogs. So it's a blog about bogs (in a sense), or b(l)og. See what I did there?

Don't Know Much About History

Don't know much - ok, anything - about HTML coding, or WordPress or ... anything related to website development and management. I've been toying with the idea of creating a website to showcase my photography and plant collection since 2001. Thankfully the technology seems to have more-or-less caught up to my lack of skills. Thanks, Wix.
